Why do you love Queer as Folk?
Big question I know!
I love Queer as Folk because it's unconventional. It's honest and raw, the show doesn't play games. Either you love it or hate it, and that's what I like about it, it doesn't leave anyone indifferent.
I love all the characters (well, except Ethan but then who loved him?) and that's very rare for me. They're just such a wonderful family and when one's away, we immediately feel like something's missing. And the good point is, you feel like you're a part of this family!!
Then of course the chemistry between the actors. The one between Gale and Randy, of course, but also Peter and Scott, and Thea and Michelle. You feel that the actors really care about each other and are sort of a family too!
I could go on and on..

I will agree with everything you posted, but I did like Ethan and that whole storyline. It really helped build Justin's character!

Yes, you're right, it had its good points But I just hated Ethan for not keeping his promises and not being honest with him.

And I just love the episode when Emmett first starts working on TV, when he's all serious at first, but then gets so queer it's hilarious!
Re: Why do you love Queer as Folk?
Is there really anything not to love about it? Lol
Though I will say, I found the show when I was going through a kind of hard time. I had just moved to a new place, and I was basically completely alone, with no friends and no idea what I was doing or where I was going. That may be part of the reason I love it, because it inspired me in so many different ways, and gave me hope. It also cemented and challenged some of my preconcieved beliefs and ideas.
I also connected to every single one of the characters in different ways, even some of the ones I hated. I think that's what sets QAF apart for me, the fact that I love ALL of the main characters.

Re: Why do you love Queer as Folk?
Yes Yes Yes!! I've always thought of the main characters as my family, you know? And it makes me feel good and makes my heart warm to just think about them
I really wonder how I didn't talk about how much the show changed me!! It's not that I was homophobic or anything, but I was so ignorant before... In a respectful way, of course, but I just felt indifferent to gays and lesbians issues. Now I feel touched everytime I hear about a coming out story, or a gay demonstration, or anything of the kind. The show showed me that it's just all about love and nothing else.

Re: Why do you love Queer as Folk?
^ Same here.
It's so nice to see that other people feel the same way. ^_^
Though I was raised in a very strict religious family, in an environment that believed homosexuality to be disgusting. I always struggled with that, because at the same time I was taught that God is supposed to be love. It just seemed really contradictory. So I guess the show helped me finally decide that it's all about love, too.

Re: Why do you love Queer as Folk?
I think this is also one of the few shows (if not the only one) where I love every single character. Can't top that.
Re: Why do you love Queer as Folk?
oh, what else can i add? it was all said...the predominant love god has for all of us, the awesome chatacters (who else sometimes thinks 'what would brian do?' 'oh, that would SO suit justin!'), the increased sesibility toward gay and lesbian issues, the actors!
oh, so many! i could eat it up! i think i've re-watched the series 4 times since i saw it the first time? if that does not proove my love, i dunno what does

OMG I do!!! All the time!! I also see physical resemblance with the members of the cast with almost everyone Like \"This guy really looks like Michael\" or \"This one has Ted\'s voice\"
About Brian\'s bracelet, I think I saw one on Ebay! Might be worth checking it out, who knows!
